Lynn man allegedly steals a Blackberry from a youth

A Revere youth reported on Monday, February 18, that an apparent Lynn man stole his Blackberry phone at knifepoint just off of Squire Road.

The youth told officers that around 5:30 p.m. he was walking up Augustus Street near Squire Road when an Hispanic man approached him quickly from behind.

The man ordered him to hand over his phone, and held a hunting knife in his left hand.

The youth handed over the phone and the man fled towards the 336 Pub and Grill. He apparently told someone on the stolen phone that he was headed to Lynn.

The victim reported that, among other clothing, the man had a red rag with the word ‘Lynn’ hanging out of his back pocket.

Revere police are securing the Exxon Mobile’s surveillance videos and detectives are pursuing charges of armed robbery and larceny over $250.
