Barbara Zagarella
Retired waitress and member of Beachmont VFW
Barbara A. Zagarella of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on June 9, 2024. She was 94 years old.
Born in East Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Marie P. “Lena” (Caggiano) and William J. Burke. A long-time resident of East Boston, she worked as a waitress prior to her retirement. She was also a member of the VFW in Beachmont, Revere.
She was the devoted wife of the late Salvatore A. Zagarella and the loving mother of Avis Surette, the late Paul Zagarella and the dear sister of the late Pauline Rigione.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Friday, June 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with the entombment in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.

Joseph Jude Lomuscio
His life was a testament to the power of strength of a positive spirit, perseverance and resilience in the face of serious and debilitating illness
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Joseph Jude Lomuscio (Joe) a beloved husband, brother, uncle, friend and cherished community member, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease and many other serious illnesses.
Born on February 8, 1952 in Boston, he departed from this world on June 3, 2024, leaving behind memories of laughter and love that will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was a peaceful soul, easy-going and good-spirited, always seen wearing a warm smile. For forty years, he worked diligently as a computer operator at John Hancock and as a Clerk at Mass Eye and Ear. Joseph was a sports enthusiast, and his love for casinos was well known. He was a fan of all Boston sports teams, especially the Celtics and Patriots.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Ulda Lomuscio, who stood by him in his illnesses sharing his joys and sorrows. He was the loving son of Andrew and Rose Lomuscio, both of whom preceded him in death. Joe was the devoted brother of Dorothy Iudice and her husband, Michael of Melrose and Anthony J. Lomuscio and his wife, Laurie of Golffstown NH. Joe is also survived by his nephews: Gregory M. Iudice and his wife, Kimberly, Jeffrey A. Iudice and his wife, Kristin, Joseph A. Lomuscio and his wife, Jessica, his niece, Andrea Lomuscio and many grand nieces and nephews.
His life will be celebrated with a funeral service on Tuesday, June 18 at 9 a.m. at Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 230 Beach Street, Revere, Joseph’s life was a testament to the power of strength of a positive spirit, perseverance and resilience in the face of serious and debilitating illness. His memory will live on, not in sorrow, but in the joy he brought to his family. Louis J. “Lingo” Cicatelli, Sr.
A man of small stature with a giant heart, witty personality and a smile to light up a room
Family and friends attended Visiting Hours on Monday, June 10th in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for Louis J. “Lingo” Cicatelli, Sr., who died on Tuesday, June 4th at Care One at Essex Park in Beverly following a brief illness. He was 93 years old. A Funeral Mass was celebrated after the visitation in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 12 noon followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
“Lingo”, as he was affectionately known by all who knew him, was a man of small stature with a giant heart, witty personality, and a smile to light up a room. Always quick with a joke a true family man and a genuine friend. Lingo was born to his late Italian immigrant parents, Lorenzo and Elisa (Mancini) Cicatelli on May 24, 1931 in Revere. He was one of seven children, who was raised and educated in Revere and was a proud graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1949.
Lingo enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1951. He proudly and bravely served his country during the Korean War and was later honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. Lingo returned home, married his wife, Joanne (McCormack) and became the father of his two sons, Lawrence and Louis, Jr. He remained in Revere and worked as a bus mechanic. He also worked for the Revere Schools as a bus driver. He loved driving the kids to and from school and he made many friendships with both the parents and students along the way.
Lingo also was the past president at the Revere Sons of Italy Giuseppe Manzini Lodge. He was most active there, where he socialized, played cards, and watched many sporting events. Lingo was also seen driving his Lincoln Town Car while smoking his cigar.
The beloved husband of 57 years of the late Joanne M. (McCormack) Cicatelli, he was the loving father of Lawrence “Larry” Cicatelli and his partner, Michael Dorangrichia of Wisconsin and Louis J. Cicatelli and his wife, Jean of Topsfield; the cherished grandfather of Dr. Louis V. Cicatelli, DO of New York , Christina Cicatelli of Somerville, Brianna Harrison of Ohio, George W. Harrison, Jr. and the late Joseph W. Harrison; the dear brother of the late Florence Lavoie, Emily DeSisto, Mary Cappello, Jean Cicatelli, Josephine Navarro and Anthony Cicatelli. He is also lovingly survived by George W. “Billy” Harrison of Revere and the late Robert “Bobby Love” Harrison and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Robert D’Amelio
Love and devotion to family was at the forefront of his entire life
Robert D’Amelio, 67, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of East Boston and Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
The son of the late Carmine and Nancy (Briganti) D’Amelio, he was surrounded by his loving, caring wife Kelley (Mahoney) with whom he shared 25 years of marriage and sons, Dante and Robert D’Amelio, all of Lakeland, FL. He was the beloved father of Nadine and her husband, Antonio (Tony) Ramirez of Revere, loving grandfather of Lily and Lia Ramirez, who he cherished and loved dearly, they lit up his life, especially when they would face time him. His children and grandchildren brought him extreme pride and joy. He was the loving brother of the late Janet DiLuigi of Revere and is survived by his siblings: Richard and his wife, Donna D’Amelio of Saugus, Nancy and her husband, Thomas Abrams of Newburyport, Carmine (Jr) and his wife, Marie D’Amelio of East Boston and his baby sister, Mara and her husband, Mark O’Brien of Winthrop. He was the cherished nephew of Edie Solari and is also survived by many adoring nieces, nephews and cousins, along with friends who he called family. He was a kind and compassionate friend and family-man. His love and devotion to his family was at the forefront of his entire life. A mass in his honor will be celebrated on Sunday, June 23 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 404 Sumner St., East Boston and will conclude with a celebration of life luncheon at 12 Noon at the Beachmont VFW in Revere.
Robert Troisi
Owner of Triosi Trucking and quintessential family man
Robert Troisi, 65, of Revere passed away on June 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Revere on May 25, 1959 to the late Vincent and Rose Troisi (Raimo), he was the beloved husband of 42 years to Darlene (Tempesta) Troisi with whom he raised three children. He was the devoted father of Jenna Scanlon and her husband, Jason, Janelle Troisi Espada and her husband, Thomas, all of Revere and Robert Troisi and his girlfriend, Kaylie Elcewicz of Wakefield; adored Pops to his five grandsons: Thomas Espada, Nolan Scanlon, Vincent Espada, Benjamin Scanlon, and Jackson Espada; dear brother of Vincent Troisi of California and Michael Troisi and his wife, Corrine of Lynnfield; caring nephew of Antoinette Riley and her late husband, Louis and Anna Curtain and her late husband, Anthony. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
For over 40 years, Robert was the owner of Troisi Trucking, a family-owned business which has been in service for three generations. He knew the best restaurants and ice cream shops in every corner of New England. He loved playing hockey, and with steadfast dedication through his youth and alumni, he guarded his net as goalie number 20. His skill echoed in every save. Robert was a pitmaster who loved to welcome family and friends into his backyard, waking before dawn to start up his smoker. He loved music, martial arts, animals, and especially his boxer dogs. Most of all he loved his family. He was the quintessential family man.
Darlene Troisi, his cherished wife, remained steadfast by his side throughout his illness, a testament to their relationship that began at the age of 12. Her devotion never wavered.
His Funeral will be from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, on Friday, June 14 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Barbara Squitieri

Barbara A. (Lindberg) Squitieri, 76, died peacefully on Friday, June 7 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a well-fought battle with Alzheimer’s. She was the beloved wife of Philip Squitieri with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Gloucester, where she developed her love for the ocean, Barbara spent most of her years in Revere, the place she fell in love and raised her family.
Mrs. Squitieri was the daughter of the late Charles Lindberg and Joyce E. (Fitzgerald) and Joseph Puzzangara. In addition to her loving husband, Barbara is survived by her three daughters: Vanessa McKay of Maine, Bianca Quirk and her husband, John of Bellingham and Alexa Squitieri and her wife, Jennifer of Marblehead. She was the cherished Nana of four grandchildren: Brooke and Colin McKay, Jonathan Squitieri, and Evelyn Quirk. Barbara also leaves behind one brother, Charles Lindberg and his wife, Roberta of Revere; one sister, Robin Hines and her husband, David of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Angela Squitieri and Susan Francis and her husband, James; much extended family and countless lifelong friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Avenue, Saugus today, Wednesday, June 12th, from 4 to 7 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 13th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey Street, Swampscott at 10 a.m. Guests are asked to meet at the church.

John O’Connor

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, June 22nd from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere for John C. O’Connor, who passed away on May 14th, following a courageous battle with overwhelming illness. He was 55 years of age. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the Funeral home, immediately following the visitation, at 2 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett will be held privately.
Born in Revere, the son of Ronald J. and Georganne M. (Vincent) O’Connor, John was raised and educated in Revere schools and was a graduate of Revere High School. His interest in the plumbing and heating industry led him to further his education and he enrolled in HVAC training. It was a career that he enjoyed and in which he took great pride.
John and his wife, Carol, lived in Merrimack, New Hampshire, before more recently taking residence in Ormond Beach, Florida, to be closer to the Mayo Clinic, where John had been receiving treatments. He was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics, and he enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll with one of his favorite bands being KISS. He will be sorely missed and left many fond memories with all who knew him.
The beloved husband of Carol (Renzulli) O’Connor of Ormand Beach, Florida, he was the devoted son Georganne M. (Vincent) O’Connor of Revere and the late Ronald J. O’Connor; cherished grandson of Mildred “Millie” Vincent of Revere, the cherished nephew of Richard and RoseLee Vincent, the late Daniel “Danny” Vincent, Bethanne and Joseph Cardarelli and the late James, Paul and June O’Connor. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins.

Rose Grace Zanelli
A woman of extraordinary resilience and spirit
Rose Grace Zanelli passed away at home on June 5, 2024. Born in Boston, MA on July 28, 1925 to Agrippino and Josephine Bartolucci, Rose was a woman of extraordinary resilience and spirit. She made her home in Meredith, New Hampshire, after living most of her life in Revere and later in Las Vegas.
Rose was the heart of her home, a dedicated homemaker who created a place of love and warmth for her family.
A woman who embraced life’s pleasures, she possessed a love for traveling, gardening and reading. Whether embarking on a relaxing cruise, trying her luck at the casino slots, or exploring the landscapes of Europe, Rose’s zest for life was infectious. Rose’s spirit will live on not only in the stories of her travels but also in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth and love. Her home was always the gathering place for friends and family to enjoy good company and a delicious homemade meal.
Rose is survived by her son, Joseph Zanelli and wife, Shirley; her daughter, Maryann Forte and her husband, Louis; and her grandchildren: Joseph Zanelli Jr and his wife, Chona, Nicole Harrington and her husband, D’Andrew, Lisa Zanelli and her partner, Tristin Allgood, Anthony Forte and his wife, Noelle and Michael Forte and his wife, Rebecca. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Zanelli; her son, Robert Zanelli; her sisters: Connie Russo, Mary Balliro, Anna Ministeri and Madeline Vasquez; and her brothers, Peter and Sam Bartolucci.
Rose’s family will continue to honor her memory by living their lives with passion, joy, and love.
