Edward “Ed” Webber

Retired RHS Graphic Arts Teacher, Former Grand Knight of Columbus Council K of C; Wonderful Husband, Father and Loyal Friend

Edward J. “Ed” Webber died at home on Sunday, August 28 at the age of 90 with his family by his side following a long illness.

Ed was a lifelong resident of Revere and a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1949. He served in United States Navy during the Korean War, returned home and served an apprenticeship with the Revere Journal as a typesetter, which was the beginning of Ed’s career in printing at the Boston Herald and Bowne of Boston.

At the age of 42, Ed returned to school at Boston State College where he earned his bachelor’s degree, a masters’ degree in education and a certificate of advanced graduate study. After earning his degrees, he became a Graphic Arts teacher at Revere High School for over 20 years.

Ed was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 179 and served as Grand Knight.   He was also a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, and a member the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association.

The beloved husband of 65 years to Lorraine M. (Charrier) Webber of Revere, he was the loving father of Teresa A. Webber of Peabody, Paul F. Webber of Revere, Elizabeth M. Leonard and her husband, Gregory of Lancaster, the late James M. Webber and his late wife, Joyce Webber and the late Karen DaMore; cherished grandfather of Edward J. Webber, Sean C. Webber and his wife, Nohemi, Patrick R. Webber, Victoria E. DaMore, Jack R. Leonard, Lauren A. Leonard, Sarah M. Leonard and the late Kathryn G. DaMore and great grandchildren, Michael, Logan, Ainsley and Aiden.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church on September 6 followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Barbara Aylward

The Memories and Love She Bestowed on Her Family Will Live Forever

Family and friends attended visiting hours on Thursday, September 1 in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St., Revere, for Barbara (DiPalma) Aylward who died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 30       at her residence in Revere. She was 84 years old. Her funeral was conducted in the funeral home on Friday, September 2 and           was immediately followed by private interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Barbara was born and raised in East Boston to her late parents Nicholas and Mary (Shiroky) DiPalma. She was educated in Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of the Girls Fitton High School, Class of 1955. Following high school, Barbara worked for New England Tel & Tel in an administrative role.

On January 14, 1961, she married John P. Aylward and the couple moved to Revere, where they raised their family.

She was the proud and loving mother of three children and Barbara cherished her role as wife and mother.

Barbara returned to the workforce when her children were grown at Shawmut Bank in Boston, where she worked in the Fraud Investigation Department. Her career spanned over 25 years. 

Barbara enjoyed time spent at home with her husband, enjoying her family, and above all, her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. She truly enjoyed cooking for her family and enjoyed feeding people.

She was an avid reader, and loved reading a good book. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her  memory and the love she bestowed on her family will live forever.

She was the beloved wife of over 61 years to John P. “Jack” Aylward of Revere, the loving mother of John  P. “Jay” Aylward and his wife, Heidi of Westminster, CO., Kelly Aylward of Revere and Paula DiMartino and her  late husband, Salvatore of Winthrop; the cherished grandmother of Meaghan Aylward of Westminster,  CO., Nicholas DiMartino and Catina DiMartino, both of Winthrop; the treasured sister of Carol Forti and her husband, William J. of Camden, ME. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and  grandnieces and grandnephews.

Nora M. Moccia

Of Lynnfield, formerly of Revere

Nora M. Moccia (Steriti) of Lynnfield passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 30, 2022 at the age of 99.  Born in Revere on May 16, 1923 to the late Angelo and Teresa (DiGianni) Steriti.  Beloved wife of the late Anthony Moccia.  Devoted mother of Lianne and her husband Allyn Field of Lebanon, NH, Edward and his wife Lee of Peabody, and Anthony and his wife Felicia of Lynnfield.  Cherished grandmother of Daniel Moccia-Field and his wife Margot Weller, Anna Moccia-Field and her husband Dan Tran, Kara Moccia, Krista Doughty and her husband Jim, Katie Colombo and her husband Nick, Kreg Moccia and his wife Rocío Bravo, Ariana Haddad and her husband Anthony, Anthony Moccia, and Christina Moccia.  Great grandmother of 8.  Dear sister of Rose Marie Maloney and her husband William of Peabody, and the late Angelo Steriti, Rev. Edward J. Steriti O.C.S.O, Eleanor Misci, and Vincent “Jimmy” Steriti.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Widowed at 49, her faith was her foundation.  Nora bravely guided her children through their adolescence and beyond. Twenty years of work with school children, and later in her hospital volunteer role, she touched the lives of many.  She liked nothing better than crowding her table with family and friends.  Her Italian meals were legendary.  Nonnie’s happiest days were spent with her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.
