Lisa Daniela Disario

She will Always be Loved

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, December 16 from 9 to 11 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Lisa Daniela Disario who died on Sunday, December 12 at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness. She was 38 years old. A Funeral Service will be conducted following the visitation in the Funeral Home at 11:15 a.m. followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Lisa was born in Boston and raised and educated in Revere. A graduate of Revere High School, Class of 2001, she was a proud graduate of NYU (New York University) where she was during the September 11th attacks and she witnessed the World Trade Center horror. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a double minor in Computer Science and Music. Lisa enjoyed the experience of interning for both MTV in NYC and Glamour Magazine. She also was offered a job at Comedy Central for writing which she did not accept. She worked for E-Dialogue for several years as a Software Engineer, then later took a position at Epsilon in Wakefield where she has been for that past ten years.

As a young girl, Lisa loved to dance and she studied dance at the Nicole Zervas Dance Academy for 12 years. She also loved singing in the Choir at Revere High School and journaling. She was always interested in learning about new things that she was inquisitive about. She had a witty sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She was married to her love and best friend, David A. DiPesa on June 25, 2016. The couple lived in several areas before moving to Saugus seven years ago where they made their home.

Lisa enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. They traveled to Europe, Japan, Las Vegas, other U.S. points of interest and their favorite spot was Disney World, just to name a few. Lisa’s passing is far too soon, but she made a deep and profound impact on the people around her.  She will always be loved.

The beloved daughter of Daniel G. and Nancy L. (Brazzo) Disario of Revere and the loving wife of David A. DiPesa of Saugus, she was the cherished sister of Daniel E.  Disario of Revere, treasured granddaughter of the late Charles and Rita (Hunt) Brazzo and John and Shirley (Mombourquette) Disario and the dear daughter-in-law of Barbara DiPesa and her late husband, Stephen DiPesa and sister-in-law of Danielle DiPesa, both living in Revere and the special niece of many loving aunts and uncles and  cousins. She is also lovingly survived by her Green Cheek Conure, Kiwi and many friends and colleagues.

Shirley Ferrelli

Eucharistic Minister for St. Mary’s Parish of Revere and Blessed Sacrament Parish of Saugus

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral of Shirley M. (Nardella) Ferrelli, 86, of Saugus, formerly of Revere, today, Wednesday, December 15 from the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) Revere at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. All attendees are asked to wear masks while in the funeral home and at the church.

Mrs. Ferrelli passed away on December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, following a brief but devastating illness. Shirley was a Eucharistic Minister for St. Mary’s Parish of Revere and Blessed Sacrament Parish of Saugus.

She was the beloved wife of the late John Ferrelli, Sr., cherished mother of Debra M. Mitrano and her husband, Theodore “Teddy” of Saugus and John Ferrelli, Jr. of Everett; proud grandmother to Alexandria A. Mitrano of Saugus and the late Anthony J. Mitrano and John Paul Ferrelli; dear sister of Geraldine Crisafulli of New York and her late husband, Charles, Amato “Marty” Nardella and his wife, Peng of New York, Annmarie Nardella of Saugus and the late Carol Ann Nardella. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Salvatore Signorino

Retired Butcher

Salvatore Signorino of Revere passed away unexpectedly on December 11.

He was 84 years old and previously worked as a butcher for a meat packing company in his earlier years.

Born in Pietraperzia, Italy, the cherished son of the late Liborio and Liboria Signorino, he was the beloved husband of Pasqua (Parlato) Signorino, loving father of Borina Forte and her husband, Daniel of Revere and the late Lucy Signorino; adored grandfather of Noah and Owen Forte and dear brother of Antonio, Filipo and Concettina Signorino, all of Italy and the late Giuseppe and Marianina Signorino. He is also survived by his adoring sister in law, Rosa and brother in law, Cologero of Revere, his sister in law Phyllis and brother in law, Harry of North Carolina, his sister in law, Josephine and brother in law, Vincent of Middleton, his sister in law, Tina of Boston and he also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will honor Salvatore’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach Street, Revere on Friday, December 17 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Revere at 12 Noon. Richard Ryan

Retired Carpenter and Graduate of RHS, Class of 1972

Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Friday, December 17     at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody at 1:30 p.m. for Richard B. Ryan, 67, a native of Beachmont Revere, who died on Thursday, December 9 at the Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Beverly following a brief illness.

Richard was educated in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1972. Early on, Richard knew his calling and he became a carpenter. He worked in the Carpenters Union, Local 33 for many years. He mastered his craft of carpentry and was very much a person who took pride in his work. He also worked independently for other area construction companies when work was scarce.

He lived in the same home in Beachmont in which he grew up. He enjoyed living by the beach and appreciated the beauty of the ocean and the salt air. Richard was a humble and quiet man who just went about his life, day to day.

The beloved son of the late Harold W. and Isabel M. (Dolan) Ryan, he was the cherished brother of Ronald B. Ryan of Chapel Hill, NC and Robert F. Ryan and his wife, Theresa of Peabody; dear uncle of Rosa Ryan and her son, Luke of North Carolina. He is also lovingly survived by several cousins and friends.

Robert “Bob Tag” Taglieri

US Postal Service Retiree Who Lived his Life by Example

Robert “Bob Tag” Taglieri of Revere died on December 10.

Bob worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years starting as a tractor trailer driver.  He then advanced to become a Transportation Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service for many years in this position.  Bob was well respected for his dedication, hard work and was respected by his co-workers.  While there, he enjoyed working and the friendship of his sister-in-law, Rosemarie Raske.

Bob was known to always be fair and non-judgmental and willing to help those around him. He was the “go to guy.”   Bob lived his life by example. All who came in touch or knew him remember him with nothing but kind words and good memories.  Bob enriched the lives of so many people he knew.  Bob’s wife and mother were the center of his universe. He will truly be missed.   Bob’s final wishes would be to thank his friends and family for the support they gave through his sickness and the continuing support they will give to his wife, Deborah.  He is eternally grateful for the outpouring of love.    

The devoted son of Louise (Perrella) and the late Alfred Taglieri, he was the beloved husband of Deborah (Martin), dear brother of Joyce Hilton of Rowley, his brother-in-law John Hilton and his sister, Sandra Buonapane of Revere and caring stepfather of Jonathan Martin.  Bob was a loving uncle to Justin, Jennilee, Rachael and Lindsey and dear friend of Joseph Dixon. Bob always loved his beagles and is also survived by his dog, Tucker.

Carl Bartolo

Standout RHS Athlete

Carl J. Bartolo of Lynn died on December 2 at the age of 89. 

Carl was a stand out athlete at Revere High School.

Born in Boston on November 11, 1932 to the late Rosario and Frances (Engle) Interbartolo, he was the dear companion to Eileen Fortucci of Lynn, husband to the late RoseMarie (Gentile), dear father of the late Randy Bartolo and step-father to Lisa of Chelsea, Robert and his wife, Trisha of Revere and Ronnie of Florida and is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher, Steven, Gennara and Nicholas.

At the request of the family, all services will be privately held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org or to a charity of your choice.  

Paolo Scimemi

Late Member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club

Paolo Scimemi of Chelsea, formerly of Salemi Sicily, Italy died on December 10.

Paolo served in the Italian Military before coming to the United States in April of 1966. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He was a late member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club.

The devoted son of the late Giuseppe and Crocifissa (Guciarde), he was the beloved husband of the late Tina (Tranquillo), dear brother of the late Francesca Marino and her late husband, Antonio, Maria Ferrante and her late husband, Gregorio, Salvatore and his late wife, Filippa and Mario and his surviving wife, Liberata. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Irene Rizzo

Meter Maid Became a Senior Supervisor for City of Boston’s Parking Enforcement Division

A Funeral Service was held on December 11 in the First Congregational Church of Revere for Irene A. (LaRocca) Rizzo, who died on Tuesday, December 7 at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem following a long illness. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Irene was born in Boston and was a lifelong resident of East Boston. She was educated in Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1963.

She married her husband, Ronald Rizzo, and together they raised their two daughters, while they remained in East Boston.

Irene began a career as a “Meter Maid” for the City of Boston’s Parking Enforcement Division, later becoming a Senior Supervisor. Her career spanned 29 years. During her time working for the city, Irene made many friendships along the way. She loved her family unconditionally. Her family was her greatest joy in her life, and she was a very proud East Bostonian. She was also a long time and faithful member of the First Congregational Church of Revere.

She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Ronald J. Rizzo; loving mother of Melissa A. Jones and Kenneth of Peabody and Christine J. Palladino and her husband, Rocky of Dracut; cherished and proud grandmother of Micaiah H. Jones, Alanna I. Palladino, Nathan A. Palladino, Keenan R. Jones, Alexa T. Palladino and Caleb R. Jones, all living at home; dear sister of Nancy Melchionda and her husband, Alfred of Amesbury, Deborah L. Kalligheri and her late husband, Armand of West Peabody and the late John G. LaRocca and his surviving wife, Marilyn of Chelmsford. She  is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
