Elisa Guazzerotti

Funeral Services and Interment were held privately for Elisa P. (Ferrara) Guazzerotti, who died surrounded by her loving family at her Revere home on Saturday, November 27 following a long illness. She was 90 years old.

Elisa was born in Foggia, Italy to Guiseppe and Giovanna (Giordano) Ferrara. She grew up and was educated in Italy, journeyed to the United States in 1955 and married Fred Guazzerotti in 1957. The couple settled in East Boston and then Revere where she was a loving and proud homemaker and mother.

Family was paramount to Elisa and she did everything to ensure that her family had everything they needed. She will be remembered for her witty humor and loving kindness.

The beloved wife of 64 years to Fred A. Guazzerotti of Revere, she was the loving mother of Julia Morico of Revere, Fred Guazzerotti and his wife, Holly of Mooresville, NC and Patricia Catanzaro and her partner, Mohamad Kabbara of Saugus; the cherished grandmother of Christina Strong and her husband, Jonathan of Danvers, Angela Otolo and her husband, Robert of Danvers, Anthony Morico and Jordan Catanzaro, both of Revere, Joshua Catanzaro of Las Vegas, NM., Andrew Guazzerotti of Huntsville, Al., and Anna Guazzerotti of Mooresville, NC; the great grandmother of Sophia, Jonathan “J.J.”, Jayce, Stella, Camden, and Liam and the dear sister of the late Dante Ferrara. She is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF New England Chapter) 60 Walnut St. Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.

Patrick DeFeo

Of Chelsea, formerly of Winthrop

Patrick “Pat” DeFeo, 57, of Chelsea, formerly of East Boston, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 25.

The cherished son of the late Anthony “Tony” and Elena “Helen” (Todesco) DeFeo, he was the loving father of Amy McCauley and Felicia DeFeo, adored grandfather of Zaniyah Brown, dear brother of Constance “Connie” Bertolino and her husband, Anthony of Revere and the late Anthony DeFeo Jr.; caring uncle of Toni-ann Merlina and her husband, Mark and their children, Anthony “AJ” and Julianna Merlina; nephew of Pasquale DeFeo and his wife, Kathy of Revere and Theresa Loubier and devoted companion of Faith Haas.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, December 6 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett.

Dennis Nicotera

Graduate of RHS, Class of 1968

Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours today, Wednesday, December 1  from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) Revere for Dennis V. Nicotera, 71, who died unexpectedly at his home in Lynn on Tuesday, November 23.            His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, December 2 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 10 a.m. and immediately followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Dennis was raised and educated in Revere and worked many years as a street sweeper in the Greater Boston area before retiring. He held many other positions including, working for MA Drug & Alcohol Recovery Outreach Program, car salesman and cement truck driver.

Dennis is best described as a charismatic, free spirited, funny and loving person, known by many for his sense of humor and great story telling.     

He had a deep love and appreciation for the ocean. He would romanticize about owning a boat and being able to go anywhere he wanted, often spending his time watching boats coming and going.

He was born to parents Orlando A. Nicotera and Doris M. (Maggioli) Nicotera on October 24, 1950 and was the loving father of Michael D. Nicotera and his wife, Nicole of Oceanside, NY, brother of Diane and her husband, Dennis Cohane of Revere and the late Patricia M. Nicotera; uncle to Brandon, Courtney and Justin and his wife, Nicole.        

 Dennis married, Mary Zammit in 1983 and although the union was not permanent, they made a strong co-parenting team for their exceptional son.

Dennis is also survived by many cousins, family and friends.

Lucy DelMuto

Activist for Social and Environmental Causes and Most Active in the Chelsea Creek Action Group

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, East Boston on November 27 for Lucy M. (Grande) DelMuto, 92, a lifelong East Boston resident, who passed following a brief illness on November 22 in the presence of her God and her devoted family.

Lucy worked for over 27 years in the Boston Public School System as a secretary.

She was an activist for many social and environmental causes and most active in the Chelsea Creek Action Group.

She was the wife of the late Alfred R. DelMuto, cherished mother of Doreen P. Miele and her husband Atty. John S. Miele of Medford, Sandra L.” Sandy” Osterweil and her husband, Alan of Saugus, Alfred “Freddie”DelMuto and his wife, Sharon and Frank DelMuto and his wife, Maria, all of East Boston; proud grandmother to John S. Miele, Jr. and his wife, Stacia, Rebecca M. Anoli and her, husband Michael and Lara N. Miele, all of Andover, Danielle E. Osterweil and fiancée, Steven E. Fortey of Saugus, Alfred DelMuto, III and his wife, Ana of East Boston, Justin M. DelMuto and his late wife, Melissa of Saugus, Dimitri J. DelMuto and fiancee, Mirjana, Kristen E. DelMuto and her husband, Daniel Gillespi-O’Neill, all of East Boston, Jacqueline M. Murray and her husband, Michael of Annandadale, VA; the dear sister of Mary Guarnieri of Winchester and the late Ernest and Gaetano Grande and Carmella Gizzi. She is also lovingly survived by 10 adored great-grandchildren: John, III, Sophia, Michael, Annabella, Jason, Alfred J. “A.J.”, Jacob, Avery, Alana and Reese.

Many faithful nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces also survive her.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s’ Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
