PARKWAY HOME IS RECIPIENT OF BEAUTIFUL HOME RECOGNITION

The Revere Beautification Committee (RBC) has presented its “Beautiful Home” award to Larry and Karen Thang whose lovely property is the recipient of this month’s recognition.

The Thangs have lived in their home for two months and have beautified their property by hiring Michael D’Avanzo of “Lynnfield Landscaping Corp” who chose a variety of plantings for the area.  These include wine and yellow hybrid mums, serbian spruce, baby blue spruce, Alberta spruce, and baby blue eye spruce.  The different varieties of spruce coupled with the colorful mums result in a lovely pallet of colors and textures throughout the area.

The Revere Beautification Committee congratulates the Thangs on the lovely impression that their newly landscaped area conveys and urges all residents of the city to do likewise.  For, as we all know, the end result is a better image of the Revere.

Overnight lane and ramp closures Route 1

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced there will be temporary overnight lane and ramp closures on Route 1 southbound beginning at 8 p.m., Friday Oct. 19 and lasting through 6 a.m., Saturday Oct. 20.  These traffic impacts are necessary to allow crews and contractors to safely and effectively conduct bridge paving operations on the Route 1 southbound over Lynn Street Bridge and the Route 1 southbound over the Northern Strand Community Trail Bridge.

During this time period the on and off ramp at Lynn Street will be closed intermittently, with affected traffic detoured to adjacent interchanges.

Signs, traffic control devices, and police details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.  MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and allow for extra time through this area. All work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice.

This work is being conducted as part of a $22 million pavement upgrade project on Route 1 in Chelsea, Malden, Revere, and Saugus that is expected to be completed in November 2018.
