There could be as many 800,000 visitors to Revere Beach this weekend for the 2016 International Sand Sculpting Festival.
This unique spectacle has become a world-class event right in our backyard on the beach that has been a treasure for this community for a long time.
The Revere Beach Partnership deserves a lot of credit for the growth and success of this event that draws people from all over the world to our city.
Mayor Brian Arrigo and his colleagues in city government have been very supportive of this event that is so much fun for families.
And, of course, the center of attention is the incredible work of these talented, international sand sculptors, who spend so many hours working on their amazing sculptures. These men and women have a unique talent that brings smiles to people of all ages and we’re honored to welcome them to Revere for this year’s festival.
If you haven’t ever been to the festival, we highly recommend talking a walk down our beautiful beach boulevard and partaking in the many enjoyable activities that will take place this weekend. Some of the sand sculptures are truly awe-inspiring.
Revere Beach has always been a place to enjoy the sand, sun, and ocean and this festival rekindles memories of the days when large crowds would pack one end of the beach every weekend in the summer.
