Robert Long
Of Revere
Services were held privately for Robert J. Long of Revere who died after a long illness on Tuesday December 23 at the V. A. Boston Healthcare System – West Roxbury Campus. He was 67 years old. Robert was born and raised in Boston’s West Roxbury section. He attended Boston Public Schools and joined the US Army in 1967 during the Viet Nam Conflict. During his time in “Basic Training,†Robert sustained an injury that left him disabled. Although faced with a debilitating injury, it didn’t stop him from living and loving. In 1980, he married Dorothy Anderson and the couple remained in Revere. Just in the past year, Robert discovered that he was afflicted with A.L.S., which in its very advanced stage forced him to enter the V.A. Medical Center, where he remained until his untimely death. He was the loving and beloved husband for over 30 years of Dorothy (Anderson) Long of Revere and the beloved son of the late Edward Long and Gladys (Thorsey) Long. He is also survived by one sister and was predeceased by two brothers. He is also lovingly survived by all of his brother and sisters in law and by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made to A.L.S. Anthony C. Antonuccio, Jr. of Revere, formerly of Roslindale, died on December 20. A US Navy Vietnam veteran, he was the beloved husband of Deirdre ( Hevey ) with whom he shared 25 years of marriage; loving father of Reana Corbett of Woburn, Anthony R. Antonuccio and his wife, Jane, Nadine Antonuccio and Mikayla Morrisey, all of Revere; dear brother of Karen Marble of Gloucester, Margaret Griffin of Saugus, Lisa Antonuccio of New Hampshire and the late John Antonuccio; cherished grandfather of Rebecca Corbett, Cameron Ryan and Isabella Amato. The beloved wife of James A. Lind Jr. of Revere, she was the devoted mother of Thomas J. Lind and his wife, Amanda of Hopedale; dear sister of Barbara Loging of Lynn and John Day of Revere; cherished grandmother of Evan and Owen Lind of Hopedale and loving aunt of Kenneth and Marie Loging, both of Lynn.

Maurice ‘Jesse’ James Arnold, Jr.

Arnold Maurice “Jesse†James, Jr, of Lamoine, Maine, formerly of Revere, passed away at home on December 18. He was 84 years old. He graduated from Bar Harbor High School, Class of 1948, Colby College, Class of 1952 and attended M.I.T. during his USAF career (1952 to 1962.) A longtime Revere resident, he retired from the National Weather Service in Boston in 1985. Mr. Arnold was intelligent and witty, and liked to tinker in the garage and flirt with the ladies. He was an avid fan of Stephen King and Robert Parker books, and enjoyed Bond movies and historical documentaries. He loved popovers, mincemeat pies, coffee brandy, and peanut-butter ice cream. He was a proud patriot and Korean War veteran. He is loved and will be missed by his four daughters: Karen (Boisvert) Dickson, Susan Lindsey, Mary Ellen (Cardello) Ingersoll, and Julie (Decker) Schelske. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Shanelle Lindsey, Daniel Cardello and his wife, Kelly, Jaimie Cardello, Cody Decker, and great granddaughter Ayanna Lindsey-Johnson and his former wife and cherished friend, Shirley Springer James. He was predeceased by his parents, Arnold M. James and Marietta Mitchell (Hatch) and his first love, Rosemarie A. Ferrante James. A private family service will be held. Margaret E. “Margi†(Adamson) Marjoun died unexpectedly on December 23. She was 54 years old. Born and raised in Revere, Margi attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1978, the first graduating class in the “New High School.†Immediately after graduation, Margi, who had a passion for style and cosmetology, earned her Certificate in Hairdressing & Cosmetology. She purchased the Solari Hair Salon in Winthrop and operated it for many years. She earned a reputation as a top hair stylist and had an incredible following. Her success is attributed to her strong work ethic and passion for her craft. She was the loving daughter of Eva M. (Sargent) Adamson of Revere and the late Arthur L. Adamson, Sr.; the cherished mother of Victor Marjoun of Revere and his companion, Shawna A. Sweeney – Adamchek of Burlington; the beloved sister of Randy J. Adamson of Revere and the late Arthur L. Adamson, Jr. and is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and by Victor “Ahmed†Marjoun of Chelsea. Owned North Shore Pubs; Proud of Irish Heritage
Paul M. Hurley, a life long resident of Revere, died on Sunday, December 21 at the Wilmington Health Care Center in Wilmington after a long illness. He was 80 years old. Born and raised in Revere, Paul was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1952 where he was a member of the Varsity Football Team and played other sports as well. He received an academic scholarship to Fryeburg Academy in Maine, joined the US Army during the Korean Conflict and served his country honorably. Paul was a proprietor of a couple of pubs in the North Shore area. It is known by all of Paul’s friends and family that he was very proud of his Irish heritage. He was the devoted husband of Gloria A. (Vitale) Hurley of Revere with whom he just celebrated 50 years of marriage; the loving and cherished father of Jill E. Hurley of Revere; the beloved brother of the late Anthony Hurley, Joseph Hurley and Catherine McCann and is also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews. Revere Homemaker Whose Family Was Her Pride and Joy
Marie T. (Renda) DeLisle, a longtime resident of Revere, died on Friday, December 26 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center after a long illness. She was 88 years old. Born in Boston’s North End, she and her family later moved to Somerville and Marie was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1944. She earned her degree as a Business Secretary from Chandler Secretarial School of Boston, married in 1948 and settled in Revere. Marie left her secretarial job and took on her greatest job, that of “Mother,†caring for her family with great pride and joy. Her family was what made her happiest, being together, making memories, She was the devoted wife of the late Eugene L. DeLisle with whom she shared 45 years of marriage; the loving mother of Eugene J. DeLisle of Peabody, Richard V. DeLisle and his wife, Amy, Dennis J. DeLisle and his wife, Judy of Tewksbury, Marie D. Demaso and her husband, Edward M., II of Revere, Arthur L. DeLisle and his wife, Roberta of Las Vegas, NV, Michelle D. Stancato of Wilmington and Anthony O. DeLisle and his wife, Kathleen of Groveland; the cherished sister of Anna Howard of Falmouth, Rose Plagenza and Frances Tencati, both of California, Elena Campbell of Connecticut and the late Anthony Renda, Pasqualina Frasso, Nicholas Renda, Vito Renda and Vita D’Angeli. She was the adored grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 17 and is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
