Joseph Fabiano, Sr.

Of Revere, formerly of the North End

Joseph G. Fabiano, Sr. of Revere, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on June 11 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was 61 years old.

Joey, who was raised in the North End of Boston, worked for many years at Winthrop Centre Auto Body.

He was the beloved husband of Gale (Catena); devoted father of Joseph G. Jr. of Revere and Robert DiPalma of Beverly; loving grandfather of Staci DiPalma; cherished son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Fagone) Fabiano; dear brother of Beverly Shoaf of Saugus and is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

His Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Friday, June 20 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, Revere at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Donald Tirrell

Worked for Eastern Airlines, Trump Air and US Airways

Donald F. Tirrell of East Boston died on June 14.

A US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the Beachmont V.F.W, ITAM Local 1726 and a past member of the Pleasant Park Yacht Club. Donald was a loyal employee of Eastern Airlines for over 34 years as well as five years with Trump Air and US Airways.

He was the beloved husband of Lillian (Picariello)Tirrell; devoted father of Henry Tirrell and his late wife, Sharon of Winthrop, Gary Tirrell and Lynne Barbarisi, both of East Boston; dear brother of James Tirrell and his wife, Patricia of Malden and the late Henry, Charles and John Tirrell, Edith McCormack, Doris Rogers, Elsie Doig and Marie Riley; cherished Papa of Jessica Pumphret, Cory and Derek Tirrell, Gabriella and Carina Babbarisi, adored Great Papa of Ava and Joseph Pumphret and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Filippa “Fina” (Amato) Scimemi of Revere passed away at home on June 12. She was 69 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Salvatore Scimemi, she was the loving mother of Antonette Belschner and her husband, Gary of Lynnfield, Joseph Scimemi and his fiancé, J’aime Richards of Revere and Salvatore Scimemi, Jr. and his wife, Lisa Marie of Saugus; cherished grandmother of Alyssa and Taylor Belschner of Lynnfield; dear daughter of the late Giuseppina Amato; sister of Giuseppina Sanguedolce and Gina Amato and the late Rosetta Castellano. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donna Lee Lewis of Revere, formerly of Everett, died unexpectedly on June 9.

She was the loving mother of Dennis J. Orlandino, Jr.; loving daughter of the late George and Evelyn (O’Neill) Lewis; dear sister of Richard Lewis of Winchendon and the late Michael DiStasio and is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will honor Donna’s life by gathering Saturday, June 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston followed by prayer services at 6 p.m. Cremation Services will be held privately.

Yvonne Ferragamo

Revere Homemaker

Yvonne M. (Draper) Ferragamo, a 52 year resident of Revere, died unexpectedly at her Revere home on Saturday, June 14. She was 77 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s West End, she lived in Charlestown as a young girl until coming to Revere in 1962 when she married Tony Ferragamo. “Tony” and Yvonne had 42 years together until his death on September 7, 2004.

She was the devoted mother of: Anthrony R. Ferragamo and his wife, Debra of Haverhill and Robert A. Ferragamo and his wife, Gretchen Richards of Boylston; the grandmother of: Michael G., David A. and Renee L. Ferragamo, all of Haverhill. She was the dear sister to: Patricia A. DeMinnico and her husband, Charles of Revere and the late Francis S. Draper, Jr., Richard A. Draper and Vivian Brandano. She is also lovingly survived by her faithful and loving friends, Judy and Robert Anderson of Revere and by many nieces and nephews.

Austin Curley

Retired Trucker

Austin F. Curley, a lifelong resident of Revere, died on June 11 after being stricken at his Revere home and rushed to the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. He was 70 years old.

Born and raised in Revere, he was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School of Lynn, Class of 1961. Most of his working career was spent as a long distance truck driver for several trucking firms. Failing health demanded an early retirement in 2005.

He was the dear son of the late Austin H. and Grace M. (Conner) Curley; the beloved husband and best friend for over 46 years to Charlotte F. (Portalla) Curley; the devoted father of: Ms. Arwen of Maui, Hawaii and Melissa C. Oscar and her husband, Paul of Saugus. He is also lovingly survived by his surrogate niece, Dana Catizone of Melrose and by many friends.

Worked Until Last Year as a Stanley Home Products Saleswoman

Doris Licata of Revere, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on June 10 at Boston’s Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital. She was 94 years old.

Doris was an active and devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Church and a long time member of Neo Catechumenal Way, member of the Third Order of Mary. Doris worked up until last year as a saleswoman for Stanley Home Products. When not working, she enjoyed following her beloved Red Sox.

Born in Quebec, the daughter of the late William and Alice (Magnan) Doak, she was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore; devoted mother of Jean Licata Sacco and her husband, Jerome Sacco of Revere; loving grandmother of John Culbert, Christopher Culbert and his wife, Kara and Frank Rossi, all of Florida; dear sister of Joseph Doak of Colorado and the late Leonard and Walter Doak. Leonore Cantlon

Of Florida, formerly of Revere

Lenore P. (McCauley) Cantlon of Gainesville, Florida, formerly of Revere, died on June 10 in Gainesville after a short illness. She was 92 years old.

The daughter of Peter and Corrine (Ouimette) McCauley, she was born in Lowell on March 10, 1922 and graduated from Revere High School in 1939.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Cantlon, loving mother of Buster and his wife, Lauralee of Ft. Myers, FL, Ginny Cantlon Profumo and Katherine Cantlon of Gainesville, FL; cherished grandmother of Jack Profumo and his wife, Roseann of St. Petersburg, FL, Kate (Profumo) Dyksterhouse and her husband, Jimmy of Charlotte, NC, and great grandmother of Nella Lenore.

Raymond Giuffre

Of Revere, formerly of the West End

Raymond A. Giuffre of Revere, formerly of Boston’s West End, passed away on Friday, June 6 surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years old.

Raymond was the owner of the Dew Drop Inn and Ray’s Variety Store in the West End.

The cherished son of the late Lena (Lucacio) and Salvatore Giuffre, he was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Gigante) Giuffre; loving father of Marlene Cronin, Ramona Giuffre, Raymond Guiffre and his partner, Jesus Nater and their son, Elijah, and Marisa Giuffre; adored grandfather of Taylor Giuffre-Catalano and her mother, Michele Catalano; dear brother of the late Leah Clifford and John Giuffre and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Nicholas “Nick “ Liberato of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on June 9. He was in his 99th year.

The beloved husband of the late Teresa (Gulla) Liberato, he was the loving father of James of Saugus and his late wife, Charline, Nicholas and his wife, Carol of Revere, Virginia Stewart and her husband, Eugene of Peabody and Angelie Graham and her husband, Thomas of Washington; cherished grandfather of Daniel and Tina Liberato, Rebecca Cormier, Wendy Spinelli, Mark and Steven Stewart, John and Thomas Graham Jr., the late Charline and James Liberato and Christine Stewart. He was the great-grandfather of 14 and is also survived by Jacqueline Poto Bufalino and her husband, Darin, Gina Poto Mackin and her husband, Billy and their children and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mario Gallotto of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on June 4 at the Mass General Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mario was a former employee of Kendall Boiler Co. for 30 years before retiring.

Born in Italy, the husband of Rosanna (Bello) Gallotto with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, he was the loving father of Joseph Gallotto and his wife, Michelle of Saugus, Amedeo “ Jim” Gallotto and his wife, Carolyn of Texas, Rosey Fortes and her husband, John of N. Reading and Mario Gallotto and Jami of New Hampshire; dear brother of Giuseppe Gallotta of East Boston and Lucia DiCesare of New York and the late Carmela Marino, Rosa D’Lia, Antonio, Octavio and Amedeo Gallotto. He was the cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of four and also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Rosa (Scialdone) DellaVecchia of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died suddenly on June 11 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital. She was 86 years old.

Born in Naples Italy, the daughter of the late Ralph and Louisa Scialdone, she moved to East Boston then to Revere.

She was the beloved wife of Giuseppe; loving sister of Mario Scialdone and his wife, Patricia of East Sandwich and Luigi Scialdone and his wife, Joan of Naples, Florida; dear sister in-law of Rose and Emilio DelVecchio of Revere; cherished aunt of Mario, Angela Scialdone, Gina Scialdone, Anna Barker, Gerri Runge, Anthony DelVecchio and Emilio DelVecchio Jr. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Thomas M. Crane of Revere, formerly of South Boston, died on June 10 at the Don Orione Nursing Home. He was 79 years old.

Raised in South Boston, the son of the late John and Gladys (Griswold) Crane, he was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and worked as a baker for Stop & Shop for many years.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne (Barbuto); devoted father of Michael Crane and his wife, Pamela of Pelham, NH, Diane Lescovitz and her husband, Richard of Revere and the late Mark Crane; dear brother of Camella, Rosalie and the late John, Margaret, Bernadette and Marianne; cherished grandfather of Michael Jr, Eric, Brandin, Mark, Alexa and Eve. He is also survived by three loving great grandchildren: Vincent, Mark and Eric Jr.

Marie E. (Gaskill) Reale of Revere, formerly of Chelsea, died on June 14 at Annemark Nursing Home. She was 83 years old.

Marie worked for many years as a cashier at Woolworth’s.

She was the daughter of the late William Gaskill and Murtle (Goodwin) Gaskill; the beloved wife of Joseph. devoted mother of Karen Cicciarella and her husband, Kenneth of N Reading. Lisa Saraceno and her husband, Thomas of Groton and Janine Robinson of Revere; loving grandmother of Justin, Taylor, Angelo, Nicholas, Gregory and Jeremy; dear sister in-law of Geraldine Kasper of Revere and is also lovingly survived and pre-deceased by many brothers and sisters.

Mabel Frances Woodcock

Foreign Service Retiree

Mabel Frances Woodcock of Beachmont Revere and Florida passed away on Sunday, June 1 at Hospice House in Bradenton, Florida. She was 101 years old.

A lifelong resident of Beachmont, she spent her later winters in Florida. She worked for the Foreign Service and traveled the world, took early retirement and continued to travel. She loved being on the water and could be seen in the summer rowing her boat in Belle Isle Creek, Revere or in the winter, sailing her boat in the waters of Florida. Mabel loved to walk and could easily walk at least five miles a day. She remained active until the last few years.

She was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Alice (Dunnell) Woodcock; sister of the late Alice and William Ewart Seaman of New York and she leaves two nephews and one niece – William Arthur and Pauline Seaman of New Jersey and Florida, Robert Charles and Donna Seaman of New York and Barbara and Arnold Taranto of New Jersey. She also leaves the many friends made in her travels.

Her ashes will be interred in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

William Mullen

Retired Ma Rehab Commission Adaptive Housing Coordinator

William Mullen of Revere died on June 13. He was 85 years old.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired Adaptive Housing Coordinator for the MA Rehab Commission.

Born in Boston, he was the beloved husband of Virginia “Ginny” (Marotta) Mullen and the former husband of Gilda (Fasano) Mullen; devoted father of Deborah Baker of Salem, William of Abington, Michael of Revere, Therese of Saugus and Steven of Revere; dear brother of Eunice Manduca of Marion and is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Meara, Hannah, William, Emma, Lily, Adelina, Anthony and the late Arthur Jr.

Member of Class of 2013, U.Mass Lowell

Patrick Lu-Johnson of North Andover died suddenly on June 16 at Holy Family Hospital. He was 27 years old.

Patrick was a member of U Mass Lowell Class of 2013 and a graduate of N. Andover High School.

He was the beloved son of Tammy Johnson-Cannata of Saugus and Dr. Stephen Lu of N. Andover; dear brother of Stephen Lu, Jr. of Haverhill; cherished grandson of Steven and Floy (Bright) Johnson of Saugus, Pauline Lu of Andover and the late Dr. John Lu; devoted uncle of Riley Lu and is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
