The groundbreaking on Monday afternoon for the new Harry Della Russo Stadium on Park Avenue is another positive sign that Revere is on the move.
The new stadium will compliment the new Hill School but more importantly will be a true community resource for residents of all ages.
The plans call for proper locker room facilities for the youths that use this facility. Also, for the first time, Revere athletes will have a regulation track to have their meets.
But, what makes this facility unique is the fact that Mayor Dan Rizzo’s plan to make this facility useable for adults who want to get some exercise in after work. For too long, too many of our facilities are subject to the 9 to 5 rule that accommodates only a small portion of Revere residents.
Once this stadium is completed, then Rizzo’s plan for a rejuvenated Broadway that will be able to attract customers to restaurants and shops will have another draw.
