Helen Papa

Accomplished Woman, Worked Until Age 90

Helen J. ( Pucillo ) Papa of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away on November 30. She was in her 95th year.

Helen was an accomplished women who held several jobs in her lifetime. She was a reporter for the East Boston Times and associate at Youngs Novelty on Hanover St, Bakers dozen in Revere, the Recreation Department of Revere and operator and tour guide for seniors and employee of the Prospect House, Revere until the age of 90.

She was the beloved wife of the late Victor Papa, late owner of Prospect Dairy, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage; loving mother of Samuel Papa and his wife, Susan of Tennessee and Robert Papa of Revere; dear sister of the late Antoinette Caputo, Minnie Papa, Albert and Samuel Pucillo; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Daley, and Brian Papa, both of Seattle, WA and also leaves a great grandson, Benjamin.

Family and friends will honor Helen’s life by gathering Thursday morning, December 5 in the Immaculate Conception Church, Beach Street, Revere at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Deobrah Cagliuso

Of Florida, formerly of Revere

Deborah A. Cagliusi of Florida, formerly of Revere, died on November 27. She was 59 years old.

Born in Boston, the daughter of John Powers and the late Maureen (McCarthy) Powers, she lived in Revere during the early part of her life before moving to Florida where she was employed by Humana Health Services as a medical records technician.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Cagliuso; her son, Patrick and her daughters, Bailey and Irene. She was the dear sister of Maryanne Jans of Miami, Florida, Charlene Theodore of Lynn, Paula Feldberg of Wilmington, Maureen Feeney of Medford, Jacqueline Chagaris, John Powers, Michelle Powers, Michael Powers, Shawn Powers and the late Madeline Powers, all of Revere. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Lohman Funeral Home, Deland, Florida. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Peters Church and interment was in Deland Memorial Gardens.

Antonio Caso

Of Revere

Antonio Caso of Revere died on November 25. He was 64 years old.

He was the beloved husband of Maria (DeLuca) Caso of Revere; devoted father of Ernest Caso and Tony Caso, both of Revere; dear brother of Casper Caso of Italy; brother-in-law of Emanuella Tammaro of Revere and loving uncle of Cristina and Dino Tammaro of Revere.

Pasqualina ‘Lena’ Symonds

Pasqualina M. “Lena (Buonopane) Symonds, a 54 year resident of Revere, died at home on November 27 following a long illness. She was 86 years old.

Born and raised in East Boston, she attended East Boston schools. The family moved from East Boston to Revere in 1959 and for many years she worked in Boston’s Garment District as a lead stitcher. She later worked and retired from an East Boston firm.

She was the wife of the late James E. Symonds; the daughter of the late Nicholas Buonopane and Filomena (Tecci) Buonopane-Masiello; the cherished mother of Patricia M. Goodwin and her husband, Timothy of Marblehead and Angela R. Snow of Revere; the devoted grandmother of: Nichole R. Snow-Dawson and her husband, Thomas of Salem, Howard J. Snow and his companion, Ashley Constantine of Revere and Christine R. Goodwin of Marblehead; the dear sister of Joseph A. Buonopane of Rockland and the late Vincent P. Anthony and John N. Buonopane. She is also lovingly survived by her sisters in law: Helene Buonopane of Wakefield and Susan “Sue” Buonopane of Rockland, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Worked for Newbury Comics

Jorge L. Maldonado of Revere died suddenly on November 14. He was 24 years old.

An employee of Newbury Comics, he was born in Puerto Rico and was the loving father of Aries A. Maldonado; beloved son of Juana Franco of Revere and Jose Maldonado of Peugeot Rico; dear brother of Jose of Revere and Julio of Tampa.

Harold Brinig

Retired Teamster

Harold B. Brinig, a Revere resident since 1959, died on November 18 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center of Boston following a long illness. He was 81 years old.

Born and raised in Somerville, he attended Somerville Schools and was a 1950 graduate of Somerville High School. All of his working career was spent as a truck driver for Local #25. He retired at 65 years of age. He served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from October of 1952 until July of 1953.

He was the husband of the late Elizabeth J. (Fitzgerald) Brinig who died in March of 1997; the beloved father of: Kathleen A. Scherber and her husband, Paul of Danvers and Raymond F. Brinig of Revere; the cherished grandfather of Daniel P. and Kelly Scherber of Danvers and

Alexandre R. Brinig of Waltham and is also lovingly survived by his daughter in law, Theresha “Terry” Brinig of Waltham. He was the brother of the late Charles and Raymond E. Brinig, Jr. and the son of the late Raymond E. Brinig, Sr. and Josephine (Barbera) Brinig.

Graveside services were held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. The Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals of Revere was honored to have served the Brinig family. Memorial remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.

Angelina ‘Angie’ Conte

Worked for Former Schrafft’s Candy of Boston

Angelina R. “Angie” Conte died at her Revere home on November 24 following a brief illness. She was 96 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Angie lived in Revere for more than 60 years. During World War II, she traveled with her air force cadet husband, Anthony V. Conte, throughout the south. Mr. Conte passed on September 11, 1997. She worked for the former Schrafft’s Candy Co. of Boston for over 20 years.

She was the devoted mother of: Linda Lysiak and her husband, Paul of Melrose, Carol Conte and her husband, Michael Cusato of Anna Maria Island, Florida, Lisa M. Shind and her husband, Robert of Tewksbury and the late Michael Conte; the cherished grandmother of Jason Leach of Reading, Amanda Shind of California, Matthew Lysiak and Rebecca Lysiak both of Melrose and Michael Shind of Tewksbury; dear sister of the late: Mary C. Berg, Joseph M. “Buck” Zarrella and Arthur M. Zarrella. She is also lovingly survived by her brother in law Vincent Conte of Revere and by many nieces and nephews.

Patricia Rose Tuttavilla

Worked at Logan Airport

Patricia Rose (Molinaro) Tuttavilla of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed peacefully on November 24 surrounded by her family at Whidden Memorial Hospital. She was 78 years old.

Born and raised in East Boston, she lived most of her adult life in Revere and worked at Logan Airport for many years.

The daughter of the late Peter and Aida (DeTroia) Molinaro, she was the beloved wife of Joseph; devoted mother of Kim Tuttavilla, Michael and his wife, Michelle, Mark and his wife, Maureen and Mia Tuttavilla; dear sister of Joseph Molinaro and his wife, Josie, Marjorie Zecchina and the late Thomas Molinaro; cherished grandmother of Michael, Andrea and Mark and is also survived by her loving sister-in-law Rose Stilla, her special cousins and nieces and nephews.

Alice Steblecki

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Retiree

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Friday, December 6 at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Avenue, Revere for Alice M. (Ferlewicz) Steblecki who passed away after a long illness on November 26 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 87 years old.

Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, she lived in the Upper Montclair, NJ area for most of her life before moving to Melrose almost 20 years ago. Mrs. Steblecki worked for more than 20 years for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Manhattan, NY, retiring as assistant comptroller.

A most proud and devoted mom, she was a devout Roman Catholic who sought out a membership at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Revere and, until recently, she was most active in the church. Two of her daughters, Edith and Elaine, are totally involved within the church music ministry.

Mrs. Steblecki was often entertained and comforted by the Boston Catholic Television Network.

The wife of the late William Steblecki who passed away in 1993, she was the cherished and devoted mother of Barbara A., Edith J. and Elaine A. Steblecki, all of Melrose; the dear sister of Edith Klucewicz of Whiting, New Jersey and Veronica Gallins of New Jersey. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
