Catherine Texera
Paralegal and Advocate for Homeless, Underprivileged, Elderly and Disenfranchised
Catherine M. (Forgione) Texera died at her Revere home on February 10 after a three year battle with cancer. She was 66 years old.
Born in Boston, she lived in Revere for most of her life and was a 1964 graduate of Revere High School. She went to work for the Greater Boston Legal Aid Services as a clerk and worked incessantly to rise to the position of “Paralegal.†She was an advocate for the homeless, the underprivileged, the elderly and the disenfranchised for more than 30 years.
She was the devoted mother of Beth A. and Jonathan E. Texera, both of Revere, Jillian L. Elliott and her husband, Mark J. of Storrs, CT and Michael E. Texera and his wife, Jessica of Chaplin, CT; the cherished grandmother of Jacob M. Vetree of Revere, Bryan R. and Grace C. Elliott, both of Storrs, CT and Giana N. and Rocco M. Texera, both of Chaplin, CT; the dear sister of Robert Forgione and his wife, Judith of Burlington and is also lovingly survived by her former husband, Ronald F. Texera and several nieces and nephews.

Gaetano Consolo of Florida, formerly of East Boston and Revere, died unexpectedly on February 10.
A Retired Revere Policeman and a past member of the Mass. Policeman’s Association, he was the devoted father of Philip, Sr. of Revere and John of Rutland, MA; dear brother of John Consolo and his wife, Kathy of East Boston; loving son of the late Felice and Mary (Cannata) Consolo; cherished grandfather of Philip Jr. and Jack T. Consolo and is also survived by many fond aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral will be from the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St., (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday, February 15 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life at St. Anthony’s Church, Revere at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Carolyn Cierri of Revere died unexpectedly on February 5.
She was the loving mother of Derik Mckay of Revere and Laura Boisvert and her husband, Brian of Merrimack, NH; cherished daughter rof Jon and his wife, Elizabeth Cierri and Helen (Meyer) Wall and the late George Wall, fiance of John Hayes of Revere; dear sister of several siblings; cherished grandmother of Brianna Boisvert. Elaine F. (Monahan) Dacey of Winthrop passed away on February 6. She was 70 years old.
She was the beloved wife of 48 years of William H. Dacey. Born in Melrose, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth F. (Murphy) Monahan; devoted mother of Kevin P. Mary A. Zaino of Hubbardston, formerly of Revere, Â died on February 6. She was 71 years old.
Born in Tewksbury, she grew up in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School and raised her family in Revere for more than 20 years.

Margaret (Verrengia) Ferrairo of Saugus, formerly of Revere, died on February 6.
A nurse’s aide who worked at the Woodlawn Manor Nursing Home for many years, she was the beloved wife of the late Alfred G. ; devoted mother of Ann Lupo of Cambridge, Thomas of Lynn, David and his wife, Gail of Haverhill, Joseph and his wife, Bernadette of Peabody and the late Alfred Jr. and Diane Borgasano; dear sister of John Verrengia of Revere, Thomas Verrengia of Saugus and the late Joseph Verrengia, Arthur Verrengia, Benny Verrengia, Tony Verrengia, Anna Dupuis and Mary Mazzola. Lydia Cozza of Lynn, formerly of Revere, died unexpectedly at her residence on January 29. She was 47 years old.
The daughter of the late Antonio and Gemma (Turano) Cozza, she was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1983. She leaves behind her partner, Joe Chandler of Lynn and her sister, Lori Reardon of Revere.

Karen A. (Keohane) Belanger of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on February 4.
She was the beloved wife of Robert J. “Bo†Belanger; loving mother of Nadine Bousaleh and her husband, Rob, of So. Thomas Cannarozzo, formerly of Revere, died on February 10 at the Twin Oaks Care & Rehabilitation Center of Danvers. He was 54 years old.
The devoted son of the late Carmine and Nancy (Soriano) Cannarozzo, he was born in Malden and raised in Revere. He graduated from Revere High School and the University of Massachusetts in Boston and worked as a salesman, selling food products for many years. He loved his family, golfing, playing and refereeing hockey, cooking and was a people person.
He was the loving father of Lauren Waterson and her husband, Christopher, Juliana Cannarozzo and Carmen Cannarozzo. The former husband of Joanne (Ricciardelli) Cannarozzo, he is also survived by many close and devoted friends.
His Funeral Service will be held in the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. William P. DelSapio of Shrewsbury, a former lifelong resident of Revere, died on February 9 at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester following a brief illness. He was 86 years old.
Both he and his wife of 62 years, Gloria M. (Pasquale) moved to Shrewsbury two years ago to be near family. He was a 1944 graduate of Revere High School, Â joined the US Army after graduation and served for over three years.
All of his working career was spent in the construction business as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for several area construction firms and was a longtime member of the Saugus VFW, serving on their Board of Directors and was also a member of the Saugus Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sisters, Mary Ferrante of Somerville and Loretta Gallagher and her husband, William of New Hampshire and Florida. He was also the brother of the late Salvatore and Ronald DelSapio and Rose Connolly; the devoted uncle to Dr. Edward C. Alvino and his wife, Karen J. of Shrewsbury and the great uncle of Melissa R. and Charles A. Alvino; the brother in law of the late Armando A. “Eddie†Alvino and his late wife, Rose M. (Pasquale) and Antoinette M. “Ann†Carifio.

Rita M. (Spillane) McCarthy of Revere died on February 11 at the Leonard Florence Center for Living, Chelsea following a long illness. She was 73 years old.
Born in Limerick City, Ireland, she came to the USA in 1959 and settled in Revere with her late husband, Gerard P. “Patrick†McCarthy who died in July of 2010. For more than 40 years, she worked at the former Cerretanni’s – Shaw’s Market as a clerk until retiring when she was 65 years old.
She was the devoted mother of Karen A. Colwell of Revere and David McCarthy and his wife, Shoie of Marietta, Georgia; the cherished grandmother of Aidan G. and Zachary T. Colwell of Revere and Ava C. and Quinn E. McCarthy, both of Marietta, Georgia; the dear and faithful sister of Noel Spillane and his wife, Dymphna of County Clare, Ireland and the late Patricia “Pat†Claffey and the late Thomas Spillane. She is also lovingly survived by her sister in law Doris Spillane of Pembroke and her brother in law, Percy Claffey of County Limerick, Ireland and by many nieces and nephews.
