What began as a possibly historic run to yet another World Series or at the very least a play-off finish is ending miserably with the Red Sox sinking into last place over the weekend.
Even how the team sank into last is ironic and poetic. They lost a series to Toronto, the team that was in last place when it came to Boston.
The only gratifying thing about being in last place is that you can’t go any lower.
The only way is up … we hope for the Red Sox.
