Sports Community Mourns the Loss of RHS Football Broadcaster Alfred DiTullio

The Revere sports community is fondly remembering Alfred J. DiTullio, who became well known in the city for his work on Revere High football broadcasts on local cable television.

DiTullio, known as “Al” by his associates in the press box at Della Russo Stadium, died on August 13. He was 48.

City Councilor Ira Novoselsky, who has been the official scoreboard operator at Revere High football games since 1975,  sat in the press box with DiTullio when he would broadcast the games on local cable.

“I also knew Al as the public address announcer for UMass/Boston basketball when I was a college referee,” said Novoselsky. “

Novoselsky said DiTullio was always very enthusiastic and encouraging to high school athletes during his work as a broadcaster for Revere High sports.

“He was a great guy who loved being a sports broadcaster,” said Novoselsky. “He made the games very exciting. He loved sports.”
