Fitzpatrick Does Well in State Meet

Revere’s ace 600 meter runner Mike Fitzpatrick competed against the best of the best Saturday at the 26th annual MIAA Indoor Track and Field All State Championship Meet held Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

Fitzpatrick, who had qualified for the all-state meet by virtue of his 1:24.83 clocking the week before in the Division 1 Meet, turned in a strong effort of 1:25.43 which enabled the Patriot junior speedster to bring home a 15th place finish. Fitzpatrick was one of only three runners from the Northeastern Conference who reached the status of the top 20 who qualified for the State Meet in the 600m event.

“How proud Coach Sam (Ros) and I are of the commitment, dedication, desire, and effort that Mike Fitzpatrick brought to the track everyday!!!” declared RHS head coach Jack Mosko.

The winning time in the highly competitive race was turned in by Somerville’s Andre Rolim in 1:21.29, the only runner to break 1:22.
