Credit Where It’s Due – Thank you, Mr. Henneberry

License Commission Chairman Thomas Henneberry didn’t shrink or fail to stand his ground, despite heavy lobbying and legal maneuvering by a group of bar owners seeking a return to the 2 a.m. closing.

The commission took the action last year of lowering the closing hour of the city’s liquor establishments to 1a.m.

Henneberry said his opinion had not changed.

All three members of the commission voted against reinstituting the old hours.

The commission has made a good decision.
